Sustainability

Leaving things better
than we found them

Focused on the way we impact the world in which we work.

ActivumSG invests in real estate by revitalizing under-managed or disused properties with the aim of transforming them into thriving assets that benefit surrounding neighborhoods and environments. Wherever we operate, we have an unwavering commitment to our core value of striving to leave things better than we found them.

Across our managed funds and portfolio companies, we seek to prioritize sustainability by pursuing high certifications such as BREEAM® for residential developments and integrating renewable energy solutions to minimize CO2 emissions.

The following case studies showcase how our investments and portfolio companies seek to translate sustainability considerations into tangible environmental and social impact.

Nordstern, a leading development and construction company in Denmark, is working towards becoming CO2 neutral by 2050 through intensive carbon reduction targets. Nordstern reduced scope 1 and 2 CO2-emissions by more than 70% from 2021 to 2024, with at least 61.6% of construction site waste recycled. The developer is committed to the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals.

Currently, 95% of its houses are zero-energy and 62% of its apartments are nZEB, with all projects set to achieve net zero by 2030.

Carestone, Germany’s most prolific developer of senior living real estate, has achieved 100% compliance with the Climate-Friendly New Building (KFN) standard across all its new building projects. Odyssey Hotel Group is a leading hospitality company that operates hotels across Europe. With a portfolio of over 3,500 keys in five countries, every hotel in the OHG collection is Green Key certified – the industry’s premier ESG standard for sustainable tourism.

The Nobu Hotel Barcelona building achieved the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ accreditation, becoming Spain’s highest BREEAM rated hotel to date. The building’s enhanced sustainability certification follows a redevelopment initiative by ActivumSG’s local team, delivering significant environmental and aesthetic improvements.

Queens Lofts, a 321-unit residential community in Madrid, was developed in response to the growing demand for high-quality, energy-efficient housing. The development earned a BREEAM “Very Good” rating for its sustainable features, including aerothermal energy, electric vehicle charging stations as well as native landscaping, promoting energy efficiency, water conservation and sustainable mobility.
